I enjoy making art that follows a narrative. I like telling stories with my art. I feel that art pieces on their own can have symbolism and meaning, but the idea of being able to create a fully fledged world with my very own visuals, mysteries, virtues, and flaws within it allows me to create an environment where the viewer can suspend their disbelief and fully immerse themselves in the world, which can often be much more impactful as they familiarize themself with the characters and become more emotionally invested. When characters with their own motivations, personalities, and stories are introduced, I want to be able to give them a level of realism that the audience can relate to. Its exciting for me to get an audience attached enough to become frustrated with a character’s actions, or even root for them. Building that attachment to the characters and a sense of anticipation for the next turn in the plot is something I sincerely want to do one day, but I also find myself becoming invested in my own stories to the point of creating it for myself as well. My drive comes from my inner passion and not outward validation, as motivating as it is. I want to one day complete a story, some sort of graphic novel or animation that introduces struggle, and shows that hardship is something possible to overcome with grit, determination, and support. I particularly like touching on mental health and how it can affect others.
